      FAQ

Are electric bikes legal in Europe?
Electric bicycles are legal in Europe, In most cases, e-bikes with a maximum power of 250 watts and a speed limit of 25 km/h (15.5 mph) are treated as regular bicycles and do not require a driver's license or permit.

Our ebikes come with 2 power modes to choose from:

      Standard (mode 1): 250W/ 25km/ h/ PAS (pedal assist)

      Off-road (mode 2): 350-1000W/ 35km/h+ / PAS+ throttle

By default, we always start in mode 1 and you have to go through the Instrument to remove speed limit. so we are completely street-legal .

However, there is nothing preventing you from riding in mode 2,But this may involve a little constraints to daily life ,such as limited access to bike lanes, wearing approved equipment, etc.
      Who might need an e-bike?
Several groups of individuals could benefit from purchasing an electric bicycle:

1)Commuters: Those living in urban areas seeking a convenient and eco-friendly mode of transportation for daily commutes.

2)Long-distance Riders: People who enjoy long rides but would like some assistance, especially when facing hilly terrains.

3)Seniors: Electric bicycles provide seniors with assistance, allowing them to enjoy cycling without excessive physical strain.

4)Shoppers: Individuals who prefer a more agile way to shop locally without using cars.

5)Urban Explorers: Tourists or residents interested in leisurely exploring the city and its surroundings.

6)Environmental Enthusiasts: Those concerned about reducing their carbon footprint and opting for a greener mode of transport.

7)Health Enthusiasts: Individuals aiming to maintain an active lifestyle while having the option to engage the motor for assistance.

8)Students: Students needing a convenient way to travel around university campuses or nearby areas.

9)Professionals: Those commuting to work in urban or suburban settings who want to avoid traffic and incorporate exercise.

It's worth noting that electric bicycles offer a flexible environmentally-friendly, and health-conscious alternative for a diverse range of people, depending on their needs and preferences.
What are the types of electric bicycles ?
Electric bicycles, or e-bikes, come in various classifications to suit different purposes and preferences. Here are some classifications:

1)City E-Bikes: Designed for urban commuting and leisure rides within cities.

2)Mountain E-Bikes (E-MTBs): Geared towards off-road adventures and tackling challenging terrains.

3)Hybrid E-Bikes: Combining features of road and mountain e-bikes, these are versatile options for a variety of terrains.

4)Folding E-Bikes: Compact and portable, these are ideal for those with limited storage space or who need to combine cycling with other modes of transportation.

5)Cargo E-Bikes: Equipped with storage racks or compartments, these are designed to carry goods or passengers.

6)Road E-Bikes: Built for speed and efficiency on paved roads, resembling traditional road bikes.

7)Cruiser E-Bikes: Emphasizing comfort and style, cruiser e-bikes are great for relaxed rides.
What are the features of urban electric bikes?
Urban electric bicycles, designed for city commuting, usually they have below features:

      1) Frame: Urban e-bike frames are designed for comfort and practicality. They often have step-through frames for easy mounting, with a sturdy and lightweight build suitable for city use.

2)Motor: Urban e-bikes usually feature a mid-drive or hub motor. Mid-drive motors provide better balance and utilize the bike's gears for efficient power delivery, while hub motors are simpler and often found in rear or front wheels.

3)Battery: These bikes come with integrated lithium-ion batteries, often concealed within the downtube. They provide a range of assistance levels and can be easily removed for charging.

4)Cargo Rack: Many urban e-bikes are equipped with cargo racks, allowing riders to carry bags, groceries, or other items conveniently and efficiently within the city environment.

5)Pedestrian-Friendly: Often designed with lower speeds suitable for sharing pathways with pedestrians, adhering to urban regulations.
What is the typical motor power of urban e-bikes? Why?
Urban electric bicycles typically have motors with power ratings ranging from 250 watts to 750 watts. The reason for this range is to strike a balance between performance, legal regulations, and efficiency.

The 250-watt motors are often chosen to comply with legal restrictions in many countries, including the European Union, where e-bikes are considered pedal-assist and are allowed to provide assistance up to 25 km/h (15.5 mph). This power level ensures that the e-bike still requires pedaling effort from the rider while providing a noticeable boost, making it suitable for urban commuting.

On the other hand, e-bikes with more powerful motors, such as 500 watts to 750 watts, are designed for steeper inclines, heavier loads, and faster acceleration. These might be preferred by riders who face challenging urban terrain or need more assistance for various reasons.
